Newspaper: Iran's refining capacity is currently 1.425 million barrels per day

Iranian Joanne daily newspaper reported that the actual capacity of oil refining in Iran rose by 30 thousand barrels per day since 2008. Reuters reported last Tuesday that the actual refining capacity rose to 1.677 million barrels per day in 2008 from 1.658 million bpd in 2007 and increased 30 thousand barrels per day compared with last year. It said that the refining capacity of nine refineries in Iran currently stands at 1.425 million barrels per day. It added that 1.707 million barrels per day of oil and derivatives delivered to Iran's nine refineries since the beginning of this year. The newspaper said the refinery of Abadan in Khuzestan province in the south west of the country has the highest refining capacity and $ 350 thousand barrels per day in refining capacity, there is the least in the Kermanshah refinery and 15 thousand barrels per day. Iran is the fifth largest oil exporter in the world, but lacks refining capacity to meet the needs of domestic demand for gasoline, which paid for the importation of up to 40 percent of its need of fuel.m.e
