ADGAS of UAE starts new gas supplies in the second quarter

Senior official at Abu Dhabi Gas Liquefaction Company (PMC) told Reuters on Sunday that the company expects to start production of new marine station on the island of Das in the second quarter of the year. Hassan Marzouqi, Deputy Director-General of ADGAS, said in an interview with Energy Exchange to organize the conference that the company of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) plans to start producing 211 million cubic feet per day of gas in the second quarter. He added that the development process is going well and according to the schedule to start production towards the end of the second quarter of this year and that the company will pump for the first time to offshore gas facilities on land. ADGAS will operate and maintain the pipeline after the maritime operation. Gasco currently holds the management of engineering contracts and procurement. Marzouqi said that all the packages to develop offshore gas reserves associated with oil and gas project integrated into the final stages of construction after the grant contracts in July last year. ADGAS has ruled out any intention to increase exports of liquefied natural gas. The official said the company's focus is being placed to fulfill its contractual obligations to export and meet the local demand for gas. He added that the global financial crisis prompted ADGAS to speed up the awarding of contracts for major packages last year to exploit the improvement in prices and it also increased the number of competing contractors, especially from the Far East. He said that in light of lower costs for the whole of labor and technology and the repercussions of the crisis on their economies, local contractors might be more competitive and therefore may continue that trend in the near term.m.e
